Mirror, Mirror

Saturday, 25 April 2015

This is such a cute little image by All Dressed Up and I thought she'd be ideal for a girl friend, so I went all pink and flowers - quite a simple one really which didn't take long to make and I love how easily it all came together - I'm loving my twine at the moment and used two different colours to give a slightly different effect than usual.

A Beautiful Balcony

Saturday, 18 April 2015

This balcony window reminded me of a view from a countryside mansion or something - I think it's so pretty. This digi stamp from Little Claire, actually comes with a second part - another door underneath but that didn't really work for my card so I just used the top half. I used up some old My Minds Eye papers and added in a flower cluster to finish off.

My baby boy is 2!!!

Saturday, 11 April 2015

How did this happen?? I'm not sure where the last two years have gone but my little Max is now two whole years old! He is a little terror at the moment, amongst moments of pure sweetness - all boy, he loves to terrorise his big sister (and me!), bang things (his favourite toy is a hammer), and throw things and generally cause chaos whereever he goes. This little image by A Random Fan reminded me of Max. I'm on a mission right now to use up my old papers so I rummaged through my stash to find some boyish colours, but bright, and I threw in a few big stars to finish off.

Wild Flowers

Saturday, 4 April 2015

I love these flowers by Sami Stamps, I think they are just so beautiful. I decided to keep the card quite simple and used an old Papertrey Ink paper for the background together with some pretty driftwood paper that I love also as much as the flowers. I went a little crazy with twine and added in a few Prima leaves and paper flowers.

A Fairy in my Tea!

Saturday, 28 March 2015

This super-cute fairy image is by The Paper Shelter who are sponsoring Sketch Saturday this week. I totally fell in love with it when I saw it but wasn't sure who I'd send a card to with her on it - I decided on a little girl's 4th birthday card - all little girls love fairies right?! This little girl is also very pink and girly so it worked out perfectly for her. I totally cheated this week though and used the image pre-coloured, which I hardly ever do! Sometimes it's nice to cheat though! On some pre-coloured digi images the colours can look unnatural but the Paper Shelter images are such high quality that I knew I couldn't do a better job! I love the result and I'd never ever think to colour hair pink - but may give it a go in future!

Another new Baby Girl!

Saturday, 21 March 2015

Another new baby girl - this time baby Izzy short for Isabella - or will she be a 'Bella' I think this is still up for debate! This card was made with some Heidi Swapp scrapbooking paper and a Bugaboo image. I used up some old SU trim and a few pretty buttons. I'm loving all the pink!

A New Baby Girl

Saturday, 14 March 2015

New babies are so lovely, all shiny and new and our little friendship group ended up with two in one week!  This card is for baby Lizzy who turned up a few weeks earlier than planned. I met and held her today - very cute but it didn't make me want another one of my own, just yet!

I rotated the sketch so it was around the other way, and layered up some pre-made tags - I feel like I cheated as I didn't colour anything in! The papers are old papertrey ink ones and I finished off with a LOTV sentiment stamp, some mini roses and pink gem swirls.

Eat Me!

Saturday, 7 March 2015

I've had a few weeks off of the Sketch Saturday design team because I've been moving house!  Now normally I make my cards in advance and do all my posts too, but in January I was hit with flu - real flu and OMG it was awful! So I ended up behind and then I was seperated from my Copics for two weeks while we stayed temporarily with my parents, and then I had no internet at the new house for the first two weeks, so a catalogue of little things really. But I'm back now, getting settled into my lovely new house (and craft room!).

This week's card is for a girly friend and I've used some older My Minds Eye papers and a Meljens image called Eat Me. They have a massive sale on right now becuase they are closing their shop :( so head on over there and grab a bargain.

A Beautiful Bride...

Saturday, 7 February 2015

The people who have just bought our house are getting married and because I'm super nice (and we're very pleased they bought our house) I've made them a wedding card. I've also been looking for an excuse to colour this A Day for Daisies image for ages!  She is gorgeous. I've used all the gold papers I've got, as well as a gold foiled Project Life card, added in flowers and pearls, oh and glitter of course!

Happy Valentines

Saturday, 31 January 2015

This week is a 'free week' which means we can choose any sketch from the archives (I think from #215 onwards) and I went for #287. I know it's a couple of weeks early but here is my Valentines card for my lovely hubby. I choose the cutest image from Drawn with Character - 'We go together like...Coffee & Donuts'. I always struggle to find images that my husband will appreciate but this was perfect!

Again I've used old Stampin Up papers in my quest to get them used up.
