Hi everyone, here is a new layout for Hip Kit Club using the
May 2021 Hip Kits which can be found on the website here: https://www.hipkitclub.net/may-2021.
My assignment today was Product Focus and I choose to focus on the Paige Evans
Wonders products.
Now I am scrapbooking today about my daughter’s Viking Day
at school – there are obviously no Viking papers anywhere in circulation so I
did my best to include some Viking elements into this layout. I started with
the triangle design which represents the design on their shields: I’m not sure
how historically correct this is but it’s the design we made a few weeks ago
when we had to make one for a school project! Also the pattern on the paper
reminded me of helmets – a bit of a stretch but I think it works!
I decided to layer my photos onto lots of pretty floral
ephemera. The Paige Evans Wonders floral ephemera is super pretty with all
those big blooms. I pulled out a warm colour scheme of pinks, oranges and red
and I added my photos right in the middle of the layout, which I mounted first
onto journaling cards from the May Pocket Life kit.
I added lots of little bits from the Wonders Sticker Book:
circular phrase stickers, gold foiled mandalas and some more flowers. I also
added gold hearts from the puffy stickers too.
For my title I used a Viking pun: ‘I’ve taken a Viking to
you’ which I can’t take credit for…I found in via an internet search and
apparently it’s a common Valentine’s Card pun! I used alpha stickers from the
Wonders sticker book and the ‘to you’ are from the Wonders phrase Thickers. The
word Viking came from the Pinkfresh Studio alphabet stickers.
I added machine stitching around the triangles and through
the title and finished off with a few white splatters of paint.
