I hand drew an umbrella onto a piece of white A4 paper which I then cut out and used as a template. I drew around my template onto the gorgeous Sweet Serenity paper and cut it out. I did both the umbrella and the handle, but as two separate pieces. I stuck them onto white card and cut them out leaving a wide border. I then pierced holes all around and stitched around the outline with embroidery floss. I did the umbrella in pink and the handle in blue.
I arranged my photos and umbrella onto my layout with the raindrops paper as my background. I needed a bit of extra white space so make a cloud from white card which I mounted onto more Sweet Serenity. I stitched around that too.
I still felt the layout needed more white space so I tore off the bottom section of the raindrops paper and layered it onto white card – this gave me a white section at the bottom of the layout and then I was happy! I added everything onto my new background and then I was happy with the layout!
I added in a few perspxtives by Bramble Fox: some hearts, a cloud, an umbrella and the word ‘hooray’. These photos were from school pick up on the first day back at school and it was pouring with rain! Despite that I had two happy faces smiling at me with big thumbs ups!
I finished off the layout with a flair button from the Daydream collection, some fussy cut rainbows and floral ephemera. I also added in one of the pretty fabric hearts and some gold thread. I added some Daydream sequins and also added some water droplets crystals onto the background amongst the raindrops, by Spiegelmom Scraps. I added my journaling and some gold splatters.
Thanks so much for joining me today and happy scrapping. The video can be viewed below.
