A different sort of sunburst...

Friday 20 June 2014

Every month on UK Scrappers there is a challenge called Simple Recipes. It's a PDF document packed full of scrappy inspiration. It always includes a sketch, a colour combo and a technique, amongst other things.

This month the technique was confetti stamping and I absolutely loved it, it is just the sort of thing I love to do...lots of little bits! The first layer of dots was done by using a pencil top eraser and yellow ink - I did a few different yellows as well as a shadow ink too. Then I punched some tiny circles out of various different yellow papers and stuck those down, I also added a few enamel dots, the dots from various Thicker sheets, small wood veneer circles, and some gems. I finished off by adding dots of glossy accents and sprinkling micro beads over them - something I've never used before.

The other prompts were to use something old and something new (old papers and new microbeads), something borrowed (staples from a regular stapler) and something blue (flower). I also stuck pretty close to the sketch and to the colour combo.

So thanks very much to Leo for providing such fab inspiration every month, I really love doing your challenges. The June Simple Recipes worksheet can be found on UK Scrappers.
