TEAM Project Life Prompt 2

Monday, 17 March 2014

I am really loving Project Life. I'm having no toruble keeping up and I find my layouts don't take me too long to put together. I think it helps that I have limited my supplies - I'm sticking to a kit that I've put together and am using nothing else other than printables.

This month for TEAM Project Life on UK Scrappers we are looking at doodling on your photos/writing on your photos or embellishing over the top of your photos. I decided this month that every photo I encluded, I would print to fill the pocket i.e. a 6x4" photo would stay at 6x4" (instead of being trimmed down) and go inside a 6x4" pocket. I've then left certain pockets without photos so that there is plenty of space in those pockets for journaling and embellishing.

My week 5 layout looks particularly at doodling and embellishing over photos and there is a video to comliment this layout which can be viewed below.

Weeks 6, 7, and 8 carry these themes through:

and so does Week 9 but this month we're also looking at getting something in your album done by somebody else or captured by somebody else. In my case I've done two things: my little girl stamped a journaling card for me (set up with the correct coloured ink pads obviously!) and I've also put in a word cloud/ word bubble done on www.tagxedo.com. I originally found this site because of a tutorial by JimJams, which can be found here.  There is also a video to compliment this layout which can be viewed below (skip to around the 10min mark for the scrapping to actually start.)

To view the TEAM Project Life PDFs, head on over to UK Scrappers to this thread HERE, where they can be downloaded. Enjoy the videos and the PDFs and please upload to the UKS gallery before the next prompt goes live to gain the extra 10 points for your team.

Happy scrapping x

A special little birthday...

Saturday, 15 March 2014

I can't believe my little girl is almost three - that is so old! Where did the last three years go?!
So a birthday of a special little girl requires a special image so what better than a fairy by Lili of the Valley, so cute! I love colouring LOTV images and they look extra special with glitter on them too. The papers are by Stampin Up and I've added a glittery '3' sticker.

This week's Sketch Saturday sketch is sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  Head on over and join in with the challenge to win a fab prize.

Happy scrapping and thanks for stopping by xx

Layouts made with 'Zip-a-dee-doodle' range in the March 'Sweet As' kit

Wednesday, 12 March 2014

Love these papers - they are so fun! Love the colours and the doodled designed, when I saw them I couldn't wait to get started...

I knew immediately that I wanted to use this paper as a background. I love white backgrounds anyway but this one was a white background with pretty bits on already - fab. I picked a small photo and layered it up in the middle of the paper with a few elements cut from one of the other sheets from this collection. I used the stickers in the kit to embellish and cut out a load of tiny flags to make that sort-of banner below the journaling card.

My second layout was a bit more of a challenge. The remaining papers were so busy that I couldn't figure out what to use as a background. After lots of attempts to get the layout to work I finally came up with this. By cutting the flags paper down and keeping most of my layout within that paper, I had cut down the size canvas I needed to work with, making it a bit easier. I had four tiny photos that I made into a strip and I used two journaling cards still together. I also cut out a large circle, then cut that into two pieces to add some interesting shape to the layout. After quite a long time, I was pleased with the result!

Kirei has also used these supplies to make this layout. You can see more details on her blog about how she made it.

I Love you More than Pinterest and a Blog Hop!

Saturday, 8 March 2014

Morning Sketchers and happy Saturday to everyone!

This week is a very special week over at Sketch Saturday  - it is our 300th challenge today and today's sketch is a remake of the first ever Sketch Saturday sketch, designed by Jo Edwards, the founder. We have a blog hop to celebrate - see the details below.
My card is the Valentines Day card I made for my husband. We have a running joke that I love Pinterest more than I love him because I spend a lot of time Pinning rather than talking to him! So I saw this card by Jennifer Mcguire I just HAD to re-create something similar. I didn't have the iphone die that she used so I printed off a picture of an iphone and covered it in glossy accents for a very similar effect.  Sadly after spending a lot of time and effort on this card, he wasn't very impressed afterall, muttering something about '...well I should think so...'. Oh well, men are tough to please I suppose! I enjoyed making it nonetheless.

We are blog hopping today over at Sketch Saturday! It is our 300th challenge today and today's sketch is a remake of the first ever Sketch Saturday sketch, designed by Jo Edwards, the founder. There is hidden candy along the way, just comment at each stop to be in with a chance to win! The winners will be announced on 15th March, just before the next challenge goes live.  Here is the blog hop order:

This week's Sketch Saturday sketch is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.  Head on over and enter your card as usual to be in with a chance of winnning this week's prize (the blog hop candy is an extra bonus!)

Layouts made with 'Now & Then' collection from the March 'Sweet As' kit

Wednesday, 5 March 2014

I was so pleased when the Now & Then collection came into stock to that I could finally get my hands on some of these gorgeous papers! I love this collection. Great colours, not overly girls and that washed out wood pattern with the flowers on - be still my beating heart!

I wanted to show off as much of the background paper as possible because I love it so much so have had to keep the rest of the layout simple - a single strip across the middle, with a scallop edge above it was literally all I did. I've kept the photos small so I could still fit three on the layout, without covering much of the background. The layout is embellished with a flag cut from patterned paper and with the stickers that are in the kit.

I've again used two quite small photos on my second layout, cropped to squares (I really love working with squares), then I layered up all of the rest of the papers, cut some flowers from one of the papers and finished off with more of the stickers.

Kirei has also used these supplies to make this layout. You can see more details on her blog about how she made it.
