Game Night l Simple Stories l Game Night Collection

Wednesday, 18 February 2026

Hey everyone! Here’s a new layout for Simple Stories using the fantastically fun Game Night collection! We love playing games in my family so this collection is perfect for us…I just must remember to take a few more photos!

For this layout I wanted to make large dice as we were playing a dice game, so I cut some 2x2” squares from a plain part of a patterned paper, rounded the corners and added sequins for the dots – they turned out brilliantly!

I used two photos with a ‘score card’ journaling card in the middle which was the perfect place to add my journaling. I added green dice patterned paper at the top and bottom of the layout and then embellished with lots of little bits from the Bits and Pieces pack and Cardstock Stickers.
I love how it turned out!

Happy scrapping

Good Times Mini Album l Simple Stories l Take Note Collection

Tuesday, 17 February 2026

Hey everyone! Here is a cute little mini album I made using the Take Note collection by Simple Stories. This album documents a trip to the Twist Museum in London, where we had a great time exploring all the optical illusions – it was amazing fun!

I decided to make a tag book–style album with lots of small, different-sized pages, all held together with a book ring. I had 23 photos to fit in, so I definitely needed quite a few pages!

I started by pulling out anything from the embellishment packs that I could use as base pages. Most came from the Office Ephemera, which is packed full of really useful pieces. I used files, notebooks, frames, the filmstrip and lined paper – all slightly different shapes and sizes, which has given the album some great variety. The Journaling Bits pack was also perfect for base pages, and I pulled out quite a few pieces from there too.

I also cut out some tags from the Tags Elements patterned paper, and the remainder of my base pages came from the 3x4 Elements Paper and the Journal Elements paper. I simply trimmed out the journaling cards I wanted from those sheets.

My front cover consists of a tag from the Tags Elements paper, a piece from the Floral Bits, and the ‘good times’ and ‘big smiles’ phrases from the Foam Stickers – I absolutely love this combination for a front cover!

For two of the pages, I kept a block of two 3x4 journaling cards together and folded them to make a little booklet. I then added pockets on the inside so I could include multiple photos. I had to cut a small notch from the top piece so it could open easily without removing it from the book ring.

For the two file folders from the Office Ephemera pack, I sewed them together on three sides and left one long side open, creating a pocket for even more photos.

For the frames, I backed them with my photos and added patterned paper behind where needed to fill any gaps when the photos weren’t quite the right size.

I also made a mini shaker pocket using the camera piece from the Office Ephemera. I cut a piece of acetate the same size as the camera and machine stitched it in place, trapping some cute sequins inside – I love how this little page turned out!

I machine stitched around most of the pages using white thread. I always feel like my mini albums aren’t complete without lots of stitching! I also added little bits of ribbon and trim throughout the album for extra texture.

Each page was embellished with items from the Cardstock Stickers, Bits and Pieces, and Floral Bits. Because the pages are quite small, I needed lots of little embellishments, and these were all perfect. I also added Decorative Brads, Enamel Dots, and a few pieces from the Foam Stickers as well.

Finally, I made a bundle of ribbons and threads as a charm to hang from the book ring. I simply cut lots of different lengths of trim, folded them all in half together, and tied an extra piece of thread around the top to create a loop.

I really love how this album turned out. Each page flips up on the book ring, and the page on the reverse is the correct orientation to read. I used every side, of course, sticking everything back-to-back so it works beautifully as a little flip book.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this mini album – I loved making it! The Take Note collection is so versatile and packed full of amazing colours and embellishments. I can’t wait to create with it again and again.

Happy scrapping,

For The Love of Pretty Paper February Sketch l Simple Stories Heartstrings

Sunday, 8 February 2026

Here’s my layout playing along with this month’s @fortheloveofprettypaper sketch! At first those banners across the background threw me a bit but I worked in a large piece of pretty patterned paper and then just strung them right across! I’ve used one photo and stayed fairly close to the sketch. I embellished my strings with all things Valentines…from the Heartstrings collection by Simple Stories which is super cute!

Hey everyone! I’m sharing this super cute layout celebrating the newest addition to our family, a brand new baby cousin 💛

I used the gorgeous Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby collection by @simplestories_, with a sunny yellow background, a block of three photos, and lots of beautiful florals and those adorable Classic Pooh characters. They are just the sweetest and were perfect for documenting such a special moment (the baby is pretty cute too!).

Wonder l Simple Stories l Simple Vintage Junk Drawer

Thursday, 15 January 2026

Hey everyone, here is another layout for Simple Stories using the gorgeous Simple Vintage Junk Drawer collection. For this layout I picked out some of the gorgeous blues. I love this shade of blue, a muted blue-grey, what a gorgeous tone!

I had a large photo of me and my little boy on the London Eye featuring blue skies and blue clothes so blue was definitely the way to go! The photo is almost a panoramic, but not quite as it doesn’t go all the way across the layout. I decided to go with this and extend the layout into a horizontal design. I choose the pretty blue paper with flowers and butterflies and creates a wide strip to go all the way across. I tore the top edge and layered this with another torn piece of paper.

I mounted my photo and then sat it on the blue strip -perfect! I then began to add some embellishments: a couple of journaling cards tucked behind the photo at the top, and lots of Floral Bits at two corners of the photo.

I kept adding to my large clusters with pieces from the Bits and Pieces, Floral Bits and Foam Stickers. For my title I used the word ‘wonder’ from the Bits and Pieces pack and added a subtitle of ‘moments to treasure’ underneath it.

I added some Cardstock Stickers, lots of small hearts from the Bits and Pieces and some Decorative Brads. I like having lots of different textures in my clusters and Decorative Brads are great for this. I also added ‘you and me’ from the Rub Ons above my photo.

I finished off with some handwritten journaling and some splatters of black paint.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my two layouts made with Simple Vintage Junk Drawer, I absolutely adored using this collection, it is so beautiful and so easy to use!

Treasured Memories l Simple Stories l Simple Vintage Junk Drawer

Hey everyone, here is a new layout for Simple Stories using the very beautiful Simple Vintage Junk Drawer, a collection full of vintage icons and beautiful florals.

I choose to use a white sheet for my background which I paired with the pretty pink floral paper from the collection. I trimmed it down so I had a large panel for the middle of my layout, and then I fully cut the discarded corner piece and added it back onto my layout.

I mounted a 6x4 photo onto more pretty pink floral paper and tucked it inside the embellishment cluster from the paper. I cut around the edge so I could slot my photo corner under all those lovely details – they are too nice to cover up!

I then added some of the Junk Drawer Rub Ons behind the large pink panel so that they showed at the edges, and then added my embellishments in these areas. I used lots of Floral Bits and some Bits and Pieces as well as items fussy cut from the papers.

I added my title ‘treasured memories’ from the Foam Stickers and lots of small foam hearts from the same pack. I also added Decorative Brads and several stickers from the Cardstock Stickers as well as more Rub Ons.

I finished off by handwriting my journaling and adding a few splatters of black paint which contrasts brilliantly with the light pink pastels.

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping
