No Thanks to Ice Cream...?

Yesterday I had a whole day to myself and spent the day scrapping - this is rare as usually I'm scrapping for a reason whereas the layouts I managed yesterday were purely for pleasure...lush.

I played along with this week's challenge over on UK Scrappers which was to:
1. use the sketch (Carnet de Scrap)
2. use the colour swatch (Design Seeds)
3. use a saying/phrase/mantra/quote

My layout features a picture of Sophie refusing to eat an ice cream whilst we were on holiday last week in Rhodes as well as a shot of the pool. They are both Instagram prints. I really loved the sketch - lots of layers which is right up my street. My background is a B side of a My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline print and everything else is scraps pulled from my scraps basket. 'Sunshine makes me Happy' is the mantra I've used - in reality sunshine absolutely does NOT make me happy - I'm very fair skinned and the sun burns me and gives me headaches so I have to spend all my time in the shade whilst Ben soaks it up and goes a beautiful golden brown colour! But I was determined to enjoy the holiday regardless of the heat so I kept saying to myself 'Sunshine makes me happy' everyday while we were away. I was delighted to find a border strip on the Hello Summer Echo Park paper collection with that very saying on it!
