Acetate and Interactive

Saturday, 1 April 2017

The challenge this month over on For the Love of Pretty Paper was to use acetate in a creative way. I have also guest designed this month for UK Scrap Addicts, and their theme in March was to use multiple photos, so I combined these two elements together and came up with this layout. The background is all on one sheet of Crate Paper Maggie Holmes acetate, which was probably designed to be cut apart, but I've used it as one sheet. Some of the sentiments however were the wrong way around, so I have either covered these up or cut them out and used them elsewhere as an embellishment. I've been using an older My Minds Eye collection kit from last year, called 'on Trend 2' which is super bright and full of fun icons such as pineapples and flamingos 😊

Over on the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration group, a guest designer Morag Cutts, set a challenge to create a layout with two interactive elements. Well this really was a challenge but I rose to it and created this viewmaster layout which actually turns, and the arrow spins too - two views below to prove it!

And finally, this layout was made using the Stick it Down March single sketch as inspiration.

Love my Boys

Wednesday, 15 February 2017

There's a gorgeous moodboard challenge over at Jot Magazine this month. I always love their moodboards but this time was a valentines theme which I love more than anything so I played along. My layout background paper is from the Moonstruck Pink Paislee collection, and a whole lot of bits & pieces from the Crate Paper Heart Day collection and Crate Paper Hello Love.

From the moodboard I look the following elements:
the colours
Hearts
Arrows
Feathers
Marquee Lights (on the heart at the bottom)
Roses (poking out from the bottom left of photo)

Thanks for stopping by, happy scrapping

Believe in your Selfie

Sunday, 12 February 2017

This month I'm on the Single Page team at Stick It Down and fell in love when I saw the sketch above that I had to work with this time.

I knew straight away that all those circles could be a cut file and so I went looking. I found a heart border in the Silhouette Design Store (called Outline Heart Border) and resized, repeated and flipped until I had a cut file I was happy with. I cut it and then backed every heart with papers from the Moonstruck collection by Pink Paislee. Those gorgeous metallic paints are by Imagination Crafts (Starlights).

Thanks so much for looking and go and play along at Stick It Down.

Anchor Down & Stay a While

Wednesday, 25 January 2017

Jot Magazine is definitely a favourite when it comes to scrap magazines these days and I have had layouts in it for the last two months in a row which I've loved seeing. Anyway, they have a lovely moodboard challenge for January and I was inspired by it.

For Anchor Down & Stay a While, I used paints (metallic Starlights paints by Imagination Crafts) and standard watercolours to make the background, then layered up using some papers by Dear Lizzy
'Saturday' collection and fussy cut some clouds from Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Endless Summer'. I also used up a few bits from the chipboard sheet of  'Cool Kid' by Crate Paper.

Happy scrapping!! xx
