July 5 Kit release: 'Hello Friend'

This week's kit features some of the really lovely 'Hello Friend' range by Glitz Design:
The kit contains:
3 x Hello Friend patterned papers
2 x coordinating cardstock
part of a 'Hello Friend' paper garland.

I've used the white and silver background for my first layout, I love how it is a bit distressed around the edges. I've added a large pink square and then small pieces of the other patterned papers, created a banner using the paper garland and added a title using alphabet stickers from my stash.

For my second layout I've used the clouds background - LOVE this! I wanted as much of the paper to show as possible as I love it so much so have clustered my layout onto a small part of the page.

Here is Kirei's layout using this kit. See her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit costs £6.40 and can be purchased HERE. There are also details about subscribing in the same place. Happy scrapping xx

Happy birthday to my lovely (but lazy!) Hubby!

Saturday 27 July 2013

Morning sketchers!  As always we have a fab sketch for you this week over at Sketch Saturday. I love the background on this one, something a little different!
I've used this awesome image by Mo's Digital Pencil for this week's card as it sums my husband up so perfectly. it's called King for a Day, although Ben thinks (and acts) like he's king everyday, but given that it's his birthday I'll actually permit the laziness this once i.e. no nagging to get up or to switch the telly off!

Hopefully he'll appreciate all my efforts for him, not long ago I had a speech about how they are only cards that go in the bin and that he wouldn't care if I made or bought him one - oh why do I bother!!

So anyway, moan over, and this week's sketch is sponsored by Stamp Fairy who have absolutely gorgeous digis in their shop and they are offering a prize so just make a card to the sketch and enter it on the Sketch Saturday blog to be in with a chance of winning!

Happy scrapping!

July 4 kit release 'Cool-Off'

Wednesday 24 July 2013

Morning all. We have a great summery kit for you today: it's called 'Cool-Off' and features papers from the Carta Bella 'Cool Summer' range.
The kit contains:
3 x Cool Summer patterned papers
2 x coordinating card
Cool-Summer chipboard stickers

The Cool Summer range features a lot of ice creams and I had these three photos of one of Sophie's little friends eating a bowl of ice cream at a wedding we were at recently - he enjoyed it a lot! The background is very busy so the rest of the layout is quite simple, three 6x4 portrait photos in a row with some green card bordering them. I've used some of the cut outs from one of the papers as embellishments and my title and also added some of the chipboard stickers.

My second layout has nothing to do with ice creams and isn't particularly about summer either, it was Sophie's birthday which happened to fall on one of the rare sunny days we have seen so far this year so the papers went nicely with these photos. I've added a title from my stash and also used the journaling cards and chipboard shapes to embellish the layout.

Here is Kirei's layout using this kit. See her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit costs £7.90 and can be purchased HERE. Happy scrapping xx

Another birthday card for Daddy!

Saturday 20 July 2013

Morning all!
Another Sketch Saturday sketch is upon us and as usual it is awesome! :
I've done another birthday card for Ben, this time it's from Sophie. This image is perfect as Sophie really looks up to her Daddy and I think this image is just lovely (Mo's Digital Pencil):

This week's awesome sketch is sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts who are offering a prize to the winner so make sure you pop on over to join in!

Happy stamping!

July 3 Kit Release - 'Everyday Eclectic'

Wednesday 17 July 2013

This week's kit is gorgeous - I think I'm in love with these papers. They are part of the 'Everyday Eclectic' range by Echo Park:
Kit contains:
4 x Everyday Eclectic papers
1 x coordinating card
Kraft mini envelope
Baker's twine and spotty trim.

Both layouts I've done with this kit use photos from a wedding we went to recently. While these papers are not wedding themed at all, the wedding we went to was very colourful and the photos went perfectly. I really love this kraft clouds background and I wanted a lot of it on show so I clustered the layout down in the bottom left corner. I've hidden a funny story about the moment the flower girl appeared for the first time in the little envelope and added a few ribbon tabs to the bottom left corner of the photos. I've added a title using alpha stickers from my stash.

I love the colours in this hexagon paper and again wanted as much of it on show as possible so I've kept the rest of the layout simple. I've tied baker's twine around the bottom of the photos and ruffled the rest of the ribbon I had leftover.

Here is Kirei's layout using this kit. See her blog for more details on how she made it.  (love that little cupcake!)

This week's kit costs just £4.80 and is available to purchase HERE where there are also details about subscribing on a monthly basis.

Happy birthday Super Dad!!

Saturday 13 July 2013

Morning campers!  Time for another fab sketch over at Sketch Saturday:
For this sketch I've made a birthday card for Ben from our new little baby boy Max. I just love this image by DigiStamp Boutique and it was perfect for a birthday card from him. The sentiment is by them too. The papers are by My Mind's Eye and I've added some stars and baker's twine to finish off:

This week's sketch is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp who are offering this week's winner a prize so pop on over to join in and be in with a chance of winning!

July 2 Kit Release: Bits & Peices

Wednesday 10 July 2013

This week's kit is awesome - so bright and colourful! It features some of the fabulous 'Colour me Happy' range by Glitz Design:
The kit contains:
3 x Colour me Happy patterned papers
2 x coordinating card
Authentique alphabet stickers

I made use of a bright colourful border on one of the papers in my first layout. I cut the border out and stuck in onto white card for my background. I then built the layout inside the frame, mainly making use of the journaling cards on one of the papers and I cut out some of the large polka dots for embellishment.
as

For my second layout I wanted to make use of the polka dots as the layout was about big brightly coloured pom poms (!) but it looked a bit boring straight so I've tilted it and chopped the egde off so it was flush with the background. I'm not normally a huge fan of large angles like this, I normally prefer more subtle ones but this one I quite like.

Here is Kirei's layout using this kit. See her blog for more details on how she made it.

This week's kit costs £4.90 and can be purchased HERE and there are details about subscribing there too.
